Still here...

Still on my holibobs, really enjoying ourselves. I got poorly when we were supposed to do last minute shopping and get ready, urgh. So half of the stuff I planned to take with us, is still in ABZ.
First week was a bit cooler with the temperatures, but now for the last week we have been getting 20 and above, so it is now proper summer....
Had my check up, things are ok, and it was a great stress relief too.
The flights were both pleasant, and the views were stunning! As we approached Copenhagen, we saw lots of little bonfires scattered about, as the night we travelled is also the night when Sweden and Denmark celebrate the midsummer solstice with bonfires. Finland does the same a few days earlier.

Back to the routine....

We came back yesterday from our easter holiday in Finland. The temptation of not coming back is growing......
Coming back to the overwhelming smell of damp and mould, with poop weather forecast for the rest of the week is enough to make holiday blues worse....
It was an adventure at least. Leaving the UK wasn't as easy as we thought, as the airport was like a beehive. Almost all flights were badly delayed. We were supposed to have 50 minutes between flights in Copenhagen, but our flight was so badly delayed that we ran out of the plane to a closed gate and just managed to get on our connection flight. Phew! Not to mention how the first flight was rather bumpy, 1 hour 40 min flight was 1 hour and 30 minutes of sitting on a washing machine. Not very pleasant. The trip was saved though, with the 2nd flight being very smooth, and clear sky meant that we were able to see city lights far below us, stunning views!
Flights coming back were nice too, so all in all it was all good!

New addition to skin...

More shit I've made

Been a bit quiet again, but hey ho.. In 3 weeks time I'll be packing  my bags and going for a little holiday back in Finland, to live live like normal folk for a while...Me and the sprog are looking forward to this.
I've been pimping up my luggage, as it's quite plain looking, which means that spotting it can be a bit irritating in the baggage arrivals...Also been takin pics of more crap I've made during the last few years.... So rest of the post is more or less pics of  DIY junk.
Here we go...

Little one got some new curtains, just turned the edges neatly and quick passionate moments with my sewing machine, and done....

 Then I had some moments with my overlocker, and made this flappy hippy tunic, no patterns though..

 Ordered this lovely fleece from America, and it turned into a folklore inspired vest. All the ribbons are vintage bits that I have stashed....

Pencil skirt I made a few years back, it has a little frill in the bottom with a bow, just to give a little oomph to my already OOOOMPH arse... No patterns with this one.

Had more of this fabric, so tried a 50's inspired pattern on it, came out ok...

 A fluffy coat I made years ago. Heart shaped pocket and ties in front.

 Something I wove in school. It was not fun...........

 World Book Day required a book related outfit, so made this Little My outfit for sprog to wear.

 First go in sweetie sewing....Not great, but sproglet was happy to get a little pouch..

The moment is getting closer..

Flying back home in 2 days.  I should be over the moon, but I'm not, as  I'm not keen on flying.
I'm not a complete aviophobe, but just dislike the stress of airports, take offs and landings.....

Life is full of fears though. If I'm not pooping myself for the flights, it's being scared of lots of little things, that I can't do much about either. I think too much, I hate it.

I'm trying to tell myself that I'd rather be 1,5 hours in a tincan in the sky, rather than stuck in a tincan floating in the sea for days.....
It is a quick way to travel. Some people commute with planes.
It was easier, when I was younger and flew with friends, and booze was free. Hah.

Off to get pics on the computer, so I can get things ready for the travels....
