Winter wear.....

Everytime I hear women who dress up in things I wouldn't even call clothes, use the explanation "I wear this for myself", it makes me cringe.
This is what I wear for myself, when I want to be comfortable, happy in my own body and feel good.

My Elvis-onesie. It is fleece, so warm and comfy, bought from Primarks salerack for £3. No need for feet-killing high heels, a fuckton of make up, or tits that have been tightly squashed under my chin.
So there.

Something little....

I turned 30 last year, and my other half got me nada for my birthday, so this year, I bought myself an early present.
I got a set a year ago, used it up, and absolutely loved it, so I bought a second lot.
That set is Snookis signature perfume.
I know. I bought it originally as a bit of a joke, and as it was affordable. I love Gaultier perfumes, but they are pricey, so this one was good price for what I got.
It actually is brilliant. I love the smell, the body lotion leaves my skin soooooo soft, and I love the kitschy tackyness of the packaging. I'm not one to take myself too seriously, so this is perfect for me.

I cannot wait for my birthday now. IT'S ALL FOR MEEEEEEEEEEE!
Now I don't have to be like the Grinch on xmas day :)...

It's oh so quiet....

Bienvenidos to my newest follower. Welcome to the familia of the slightly off the norm... I shall resume my usual rants and crafting crap after I get my lil 'un on the mend. She has been poorly with a nasty bug that keeps her temperature going up and down like a friggin seesaw.
I need more coffee.
See you soon.

Crafting mania

The dark evenings have been my muse for random crafting, I stick some tealights on, put on tunes or watch the telly and try out new things.
I've also fallen in love with true entertainment channels morning shows, Road to Avonlea, Little House on the Prairie and The Waltons is keepin' that warm and fuzzy feeling even when it's cold and shit outside.
I remember Road to Avonlea from when I was younger, I loved it then, and love it even more now. It goes to the same category with Northern Exposure and other quality shows that I have fond memories of.

Autumn/Winter

This time of year tends to give out the prettiest morning and evening skies.

The hound did some quality chewing, and then commenced on to staring at my plate, hoping the food would relocate from it to her mouth.
Sunsets and sunrise moments are the shiz to keep us going through the otherwise pretty miserable winter season. No snow to lighten up the scenery either. But hey ho.

Merry f****n xmas....

So there I was, getting my tree up, xmas curtains up, wrapping presents and other xmassy crap, and then it started........
Tree had balancing little plastic thingamabobs, one of them broke.
I asked mr. to put shelves to the kitchen so I can get shit off the table...I'm gonna glue the shelves to the brackets, as my engineer brained derp can't get screws in properly.
To top it all, I wanted to give the sofa a bit of a clean. It's always been a bit tatty, and I have used the stain remover before......
So here's a round up of things so far.....

Somehow I find this appropriate time for starting up new traditions for yuletide, including an intake of crack and worshipping satan.
Don't even get me started how I hate the kitchen wallpaper........

Urgh

I just managed to finish my sewing for now, made a curtain for the kitchen window, for coming xmas season, and also had a handbag with too short strap, so sewed in some extra to make it longer.
I'm getting quite excited for xmas, I have another task of getting my livingroom sorted soon.
Too much crap and too small flat. :(
I also decorated my greatgrans pic for Dia de los Muertos. Didn't have enough stuff to make an Ofrenda, but got the candles out and found some icons and greatgrans scarf to hang. All this opened up a shitstorm from my "relatives" who said I desecrated her memory by doing this. What in the name of fuck?
Karelian folk used to have similar celebrations to DDLM, they went to have dinner at loved ones graves, sung songs and gave the dead their own portions of food.
I'll put piccies here of the stuff I just loaded to my FB page too. This is what has kept me busy lately.....

It snowed  this morning. Wish the snow would stay, as it makes even this grim city look relatively pretty, and gives such a cheer to everybody.
That's it for now.
Later.

Gone but not forgotten.....

Fuck, I have totally forgot to write anything here. I'm having my usual attention span with crafts, and now I've added painting and decorating to this. Starting a wall and then ending up painting all the furniture in the room is pretty much how I roll.
So 'scuse me while I'm brainfarting about.
Will return soon with more pics and something to say.

Here's a pic of one of the best shows ever. If you haven't seen it already, do check it out!
I'm so miffed I missed out on a good sale for the box set. Ain't no way in hell I'll pay the 40-80 quid that seems to be the common pricerange for that....

Until next time

Family roots

Ugh, been kept busy, I have joined a group on facebook, that has people with roots in Karelia, and I'm finding distant relatives. It is a fun and interesting journey, as I get to learn details from the past I didn't know before. Exciting!
The best of all, I'm getting to see old photos I have never seen before from my great grandmother and greatgrandfathers village, life, and culture.
I've been also busy with making more crafty stuff. I have an urge to do things, so I keep on doing stuff before the crafting mojo disappears...:)
Will be back soon with piccies etc..
