Almost there...

Counting down days when we can set off to our holiday in Finland. I still dislike flying, but I'm trying to tell myself that I'd rather whizz over in a few hours, than drive across countries and be stuck on floating tin cans for days....So much more quicker way to get around. I have just taken out the first batch of garden flowers, and put more bulbs and seeds in. My goal is to have so much random flowers that there is little space for weeds.
The weather was nice for a few days but now it seems to be going back to the usual grim and grey.
Doesn't bother her though, that's one happy hound...
 Getting there....
And now just need to do the same on the other end.....
 Getting restless
Listening to the roaring of the foamy sea
Grim and grey....
Mr Wallace is celebrating the local football teams cup win....
International street market and the churros, om nom....
Had to get the lovely coffees, regular visits on their stall when the market is on...

Will do some more garden stuff and last minute tidy up, then pack our bag. On friday it'll be evening flights. Last time we took the night flights, I wore my family guy-jammie bottoms, and the air  stewardess thought I was a child, as she put us in front of the queue saying children first. It made me chuckle.
Was smooth flights though, so let's hope these ones will be just as smooth. Might take my plastic crochet hook with me, as doing crochet is nice and calming.

Usual fuckery...

Nothing new in the cuckooland, crafting, schoolruns, hunting for crafting items, this time it's artificial flowers. Never realised how hard is to find them if there are certain colours and styles you want....
The sunshine we've had lately is wonderful. It makes people more energetic, makes people smile easier, and generally lifts the mood up. The wind is still cold as a witch's tit though.
Two weeks to go for the holidays too, very excited....

As I don't really have a social life or hobbies other than crafting and being skint, here's more random pics.

It ain't over 'til it's over....

Well, dog is now better, and we have passed the first round of lurgy. Just waiting for the second round to start, as there are now reports of the flu poking it's head up, with the normal and the swine kind. So just to save you up on the forthcoming media hysteria, we are all gonna die.

And now for something completely different.
I have been getting some pretty fabrics. Some have a purpose, some I bought just in a whim. It was also the little ones birthday, so got her some little pressies.
Weather has been the usual poop. Lots of wind, rain, and grimness...

A little something for the little one.....
This one cost more than I would've wanted to pay, but hey ho.......
 Throw the stiiiiick, the stiiiiiiiccckkkkkk.....
Multisize patterns. Not fond of them, but they are handy....
Ordered this fabric from a little american fabric shop, as I couldn't not find this fleece anywhere in the UK. Just waiting for the lining fabric to come, so I can finish my bodywarmer made from this....
Various bits, 1 m pieces, so need to figure out what to make from them....
This is my answer to the gloomy weather, made a maxiskirt for myself, and lil'un got a skirt too.
Now back to my knitting, so I can finally get  the project done, so I can start another.... :) Keep them hands busy, otherwise I will get depressed and homesick.

Toodledoo for now, hope everybody is all safe and cosy, keeping warm.

Flappety flap

Just so everything is not all doom and gloom, here's some photos from the last few weeks....
Converse trainers, found them from TK Maxx for 8 quid, WIN!
Snood thingamabob I made for the little one to wear...
The humidity is a pain in the arse. Sugary cereal turned into a brick....
 She wants something......
 Aberdeen weather....
 More local weather
Some Maneki Neko cameos and my bitchin SOA phonecover....
Blingity bling, back of the SOA phonecover...

So yeah, I get shit done occasionally too.... :D

Autumn/Winter

This time of year tends to give out the prettiest morning and evening skies.

The hound did some quality chewing, and then commenced on to staring at my plate, hoping the food would relocate from it to her mouth.
Sunsets and sunrise moments are the shiz to keep us going through the otherwise pretty miserable winter season. No snow to lighten up the scenery either. But hey ho.

Rocky Horror

Went to see The Rocky Horror Picture Show on friday.
One of the best things I have experienced.  It was UH-MAZING!
I love the movie, I have the soundtrack on CD. They don't make them like they used to....
I dressed up as Magenta, and in my group we also had Brad, RiffRaff and Frank' n' Furter.
We had a blast, theatre piece where audience does singalong and dances the time warp, just fabulous.
I was thinking to dress up either Janet or Magenta. Next time when I go see this, I'll dress up as Janet.
Go see theatre people. The experience is so worth the ticket prices.
I'm still in awe by the production, so I continue my day with RHPC soundtrack.

Thank you Rocky Horror
Brilliant actors, brilliant banter, and all in all an exciting experience!!!!

No car booting, bollocks.

I enjoy the warmer season and the frequent car boot sales. But always dependant on other half, as I don't drive. Never had the money to get a licence when I was younger and not exactly flushed with cash now either.
Hate being stuck at home, unfortunately this seems the norm to my hairy baboon half. Blaah.
Makes a boring sunday even more boring.
I love rummaging  sale racks, charity shops and boot sales. The feeling when you bag a bargain is great.
Sad thing is, bargains are a breed near extinction. People don't seem to realise how the value of an item drops the minute you take it out of the shop, and take the tags/wrapping off. I'm not going to pay lots of money for something that I can't take back to a shop if there's any faults etc.
Then you get the turds called re-sellers. Buy it for 50p and then moments later you see it couple of tables further for 8 pounds. Hope you never get it sold for that price, ya dick.

I love Primark. The value for money you get is great. And it makes a lot of car booters look like absolute arses, as selling used items for more expensive prices that you'd get it brand new...Well, it makes you look like a fucking tit. The other week when I got to go to boot sale, asked a girl for the price for a jumper and a t-shirt. 7 pounds she said, and that's when I put the shit back on the rack, collect my jaw off the ground and move on.
But yeah, I'm gonna crack on the glue and stick some glitter shit on the little ones shoes, as I didn't get to go to boot sale. Meh.

Countdown to hols

Holy poop. 4Weeks until we scoot off to Finland. So chuffed. A chance for a real summer.
I'm really not impressed with the Scottish summers so far. Seen 2 of them, and both times I've had the winter coats cluttering up my house. Chilly, rainy and pretty much shit.

That's a picture from a postcard that I brought the first time I visited Edinburgh.
I thought that it might be exaggerating it a bit, but nope, it pretty much is this.
No wonder I buy most of my summer dresses in the sales for low prices, as you never get to wear them.
Although there seems to be a lot of people braving the weather even when it's cold and breezy, you can still spot sandals, summer dresses and all the other attire that makes you feeling cold just looking at them.....

In the winter this applies too. Watching little ones sitting in their prams, without hats and gloves when it actually hits the minus degrees, is a bit idiotic....Then the parents are wondering why the kids are screaming and won't settle at all...Well, it might be the bright blue/purple hands they have........

Better get back to my crafting for a bit, before I have to get cleaning. Again....
