Back to the routine....

We came back yesterday from our easter holiday in Finland. The temptation of not coming back is growing......
Coming back to the overwhelming smell of damp and mould, with poop weather forecast for the rest of the week is enough to make holiday blues worse....
It was an adventure at least. Leaving the UK wasn't as easy as we thought, as the airport was like a beehive. Almost all flights were badly delayed. We were supposed to have 50 minutes between flights in Copenhagen, but our flight was so badly delayed that we ran out of the plane to a closed gate and just managed to get on our connection flight. Phew! Not to mention how the first flight was rather bumpy, 1 hour 40 min flight was 1 hour and 30 minutes of sitting on a washing machine. Not very pleasant. The trip was saved though, with the 2nd flight being very smooth, and clear sky meant that we were able to see city lights far below us, stunning views!
Flights coming back were nice too, so all in all it was all good!
Now here is the load of piccies....
 Just landed in Turku
 Moomin greetings
Kauppatori and the tram-ice cream kiosk
This is what makes 2nd hand markets fun.... :)
Was very chuffed with this dvd!
 Still icy in places...
 More 2nd hand market finds...
Hurrying towards the hotel spa, all the swimming!
 Hotel Caribia
Wooden house all tatty and broken, shedding colourful tears maybe?
Kauppahalli, indoor market. Love the athmosphere
Hesburger with the healthier choices, ryebread burger, sidesalad and milk, yum yum...
 Another great find!!!!!
This was at 20.15 in the evening!!!!

ramble on....

Ahhh, that time of the year, where I embrace my home sickness even more so. The springtime and the promise of summer fun, and I am in the wrong country. Both places have their pros and cons, but as I get older, the more I appreciate the things I got to grow up with.
And the fact that outdoor living isn't much of a thing here. When it gets sunny and warm (that happens very rarely) the only thing that you see, is windows open and music blaring out. No people walking or kids playing outside. There'll be pandemonium of people at the beach tho, as it's normal to see kids in their bikinis in March when you get the first sunny and warmish day, because they know, it doesnt happen that often...Hah!

I want to go home. To the country. Near a lake. I want a sauna. I want my friggin' ryebread and all the other goods I miss.
I want salmiakki, I want to go swimming in the lakes and the sea without the fear of finding myself in bloody Norway or dying of hypothermia.

Adventure time...

We went on a little adventure to Inverness last week. It was a nice little city, and lots of little shops to visit, and just walking about was invigorating enough. Next time will have to check out the actual sights...

If  I had a heap of pennies, I'd go spend it in this place. Lots of colourful trinkets n stuff, sugar skulls and clothing. Lil' un  got a Maneki Neko from there. I want the bigger one next time I'm around....
Worth checking out, Far-Fetched, and all the little charity shops...

The river banks are lovely just for walks, and we got very lucky with a nice relatively warm-ish weather.
That's about it. Will photospam soon with more random crap.
